Shaikh Mohammad and Tom Cruise open DIFF 2011 on 7th Dec 2011.
The gala runs from 7th Dec to 14th Dec.
His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai joined Tom Cruise for the opening of DIFF 2011. The Mission: Impossible 4 as cast on the red carpet at the opening of the 2011 Dubai International Film Festival.

Amir Khan and Kiran Rao has a baby boy - Azad
Amit Khan and Kiran Rao has a baby boy. The newborn was named Azad after the freedom fighter and independent India's first education minister, Maulana Abul Kalam Azad.
"Hey guys, most excited to share with y'all that we have finally chosen a name for our baby boy... Azad. Azad Rao Khan. I left the final choice to Kiran, and she has named him after my great granduncle Maulana Azad," Khan revealed on Facebook.
"Azad means free or liberated. We want to thank everyone for their warm wishes and blessings, and needless to say we are absolutely overjoyed and feel most blessed. Much love."
The baby boy was born on December 1 through IVF to a surrogate mother.
This is Kiran Rao's first baby, but Khan already has a son, Junaid, and a daughter, Ira, from his first wife, Reena.

IBAN for UAE Banks
The UAE Central Bank has launched a new account identifier called the International Bank Account Number (IBAN) The intention is to reduce errors in local and international money transfers.
IBAN is a unique 23-digit number. The specialty is that its internationally recognized account number assigned to each bank account on international level.
It's an extended version of the conventional bank account and is primarily used in payment transactions in over 50 countries in the world, including all European Union states and Arab countries like Kuwait, Saudi Arabia and Tunisia.
The IBAN is functional in UAE and its emirates including Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, Ajman, Umm Al Quwain, Ras Al Khaima, Fujairah from 19th November 2011. But the fact is its not yet mandatory till 3 months from 19th November 2011.
Most of the Banks including HSBC, Emirates NBD etc has already notified its customers with the new updated IBAN account number. Some banks like HSBC has given online users option to generate IBAN via their website.

Setting up Office in UAE
Before setting up business office in UAE, be it in Abu Dhabi or Dubai or Sharjah or Ajman or Ras Al Khaimah or Fujairah or Umm al Quwain proper study regarding the rules and regulations for that particular emirate must be carried out. Licensing procedures vary from emirate to emirate and the relevant details are available from the concerned Chambers of Commerce. The Commercial Companies Law and the Trade Agencies Law constitute the primary federal legislative framework controlling commercial activities in the UAE. These documents can be downloaded from the Ministry of Economy web site.

Unfortunately Bu Tinah could'nt find its way to the top 7 even though the government had been trying for it for the past almost 2 years. There were many Bu Tinah awareness campaigns, the last one being the Bu Tinah experience at the Abu Dhabi Corniche. The SMS campaigns had been running for quiet a while. Still the votes were less than the other candidates.

The Dubai Airshow is among the top 4 air shows in the world. The DAS is one of the fastest growing in the world.
The 12th Dubai Airshow will the biggest yet with up to 1000 exhibitors from 50 countries and more than 55,000 trade visitors are expected.
The exhibition will run between 13 and 17 November in more than 325000 sqm, the largest trade show in Dubai.
This year more than 200 new companies will exhibit. New companies account for some 20 percent of the growth of this year's air show.
The Boeing 787 Dreamliner is set to fly into the Dubai Airshow, the first Chinese Aircraft MA600, manufactured by China's Xian aircraft industry and the big show of C130J.

Eid Al Adha 2011 - 6th November 2011 - Holiday
Following the announcement from Saudi Arabia, the Eid Al Adha falls on 6th of november 2011 in this part of the world.
In UAE and its emirates including Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, Ajman etc, government departments, schools and universities will have holiday for a whole week starting from November 5 (saturday)
Private sector in UAE and its emirates including Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, Ajman etc, is entitled to a three (3) day holiday starting from the day of Eid, but still waiting for the official announcement by the Ministry of Labour. For private sector the Eid ul Adha holidays might be on 5th November (Saturday), 6th November (Sunday) and 7th November (Monday) or 6th November (Sunday), 7th November (Monday) and 8th November (Tuesday)

Burj Khalifa / Burj Dubai - On top of the world
Burj Khalifa - the tallest building on earth . Its said, to get on top of the world you have to get on top of burj khalifa . It was previously known as Burj Dubai before the official inaguration. This skyscraper is part of the flagship development called Downtown Dubai at the 'First Interchange' along Sheikh Zayed Road, near Dubai's main business district . The building is a mix of offices , housing apartments , hotels , suites , restaurants , residential flats . On the 124 th floor is an observatory named At the Top observatory . A very unique view of dubai is possible from this deck and you can click great panoramic photos and pictures of dubai from here . The entrance fee / tickets cost AED 100 - 400 . More than 1,000 pieces of art adorn the interior of Burj Khalifa. The luxury inside the lobbys are amazing.
On 28 March 2011 , Alain Robert climbed to top of Burj Khalifa in 6 hours .
The total cost for the project was about US$1.5 billion . The project completion happened during the global financial crisis of 2007–2010 . The name Burj Dubai was changed to Burj Khalifa in honour of the UAE President Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan for his crutial supports to Dubai .
Burj Khalifa (Burj Dubai) grabbed its guinness book of world records from the previous record holder Taipei 101 .

Armani hotel in the tower is one of the premium hotels here . There are many tour programs to the tower . Some tourists wrongly spell it as burg khaleefa. Parks in Dubai - Fun - Fitness - Amusement
Al Mamzar Beach and Park - Al Mamzar, Dubai
It is one of the largest park located close to Al Mamzar Beach and between Dubai and Sharjah border.
Mamzar Park is one of the best for Barbeque(BBQ) and Picnic with dedicated areas
The entry fee is AED 5 per person.
There is large area for Car park. Parking inside the park is AED 30.
Al Mamzar Park Chalets are ready for the visitors.
Al Barsha Pond Park Dubai
Its a small park with pond in Al Barsha 2. It is located next to Al Barsha Mall which has a Union Coop. The park has dedicated cycling track and a good synthetic Running track. It also has 2 Tennis courts, volley ball courts and basket ball courts. This park is for the residents and family. Bicycles are available for rent. There is also a little sand area with play area for kids.

Dubai Creek Park / Creekside Park - Bur Dubai
The Park is located along Dubai Creek between Garhoud and Maktoum bridges.
One of the unique attractions of the park is Cable car which goes on top of the park and roads.

Small park in Karama.
There is ample RTA paid parking around the park. The Park is crowded by local residents for fitness walks and exercises.

Mushrif Park Dubai - Mirdif / Mirdiff Dubai
Its a very large park with separate swimming pools for men and women, cafeteria, picnic areas, BBQ areas.
It has an area with small houses built in different styles to represent various countries like a windmill from Holland, and so on. The park has large play areas for children, but some looks a little worn out and hopefully its already fixed. There is also a Mushrif horse riding center located inside Mushriff Park.

Safa Park - Al Wasl / Jumeirah
Its a large park located close to interchange 2 on Sheikh Zayed Road. It has lots of picnic spots and sports areas including football, basketball and tennis. There are a few ponds and boats are available for hire.
The park is excellent for a walk around with lots of garden, a waterfall, lots of trees.
Safa park also has play area with Ferris wheel, bumper cars, trampolines which is close to Al Wasl Road entrance.
Weekend nights are packed with families having Barbeques during winter and post/pre winter months.
There is a synthetic jogging/walking track around the park which is approximately 3.5 kilometers. It has a marking every 50 meters. The track is in tree shades on most of it which makes it better during the day time.
There is enough parking around the park, but gets filled up during winter weekends.

Satwa Park - Dubai
The park is mainly a sports utility park with basketball, tennis, volleyball courts, football pitch, and a soft surface jogging track. There is also a children's play area.

Zabeel Park - Zabeel - Dubai
It is a large park divided into sections connected by pedestrian bridges.

IPhone IOS 5 Released and available for update through itunes.
IOS 5 is realeased on apple.com. You can update your current Iphone OS (IOS) version 4.x.x to 5 using itunes. Hardware support is for iphone3gs and iphone4 and obviously for iphone5(selling starting from Oct 14). So this release has happned 2 days prior to Iphone 5 release. Remember to back up your apps on itunes before the update.

- Arzanah shopping mall (unconfirmed sources) - Near the Sheikh Zayed Mosque. Developers - Majid Al Futtaim (MAF), and Capitala (a joint venture between Mubadala Development in Abu Dhabi and Capitaland in Singapore).
- Baniyas Mall / Bawabat Al Sharq Mall (under construction) -it is part of Bani Yas City development. It will include 339 shops and a hypermarket, 4 screen cinema complex with 1200 seats and a food court with 16 restaurants and cafes. It is supposed to have a Carrefour Hypermarket, Community Family Entertainment Center, Grand Cinemas. It Includes a traditional market - Souq Al Megnas market or area 4500 square meters with cafes and restaurants, and falconry and hawking groups, shops, traditional clothing, jewelry, perfumes and Arab shops selling souvenirs. - Central Fish & Vegetable Market - Located on new airport road. It will have fish and meat shops on the ground floor, and other shops on the upper floors with seafood and specialty restaurants. - Dalma Mall located in Industrial City of Abu Dhabi (ICAD) en route to the Mussafah / Mussaffah.
