Shopping Malls in Dubai





  1. Al Ain Centre - Bur Dubai, also popularly known as computer center or computer plaza with many small computer shops that sell computers and computer accessories It has a food court, cafe and a Internet cafe in the basement. It has a connection to Spinneys supermarket. There is a parking above spinneys. The parking fee is AED10, but it can be redeemed for purchases from the shopping center. 
  2. Al Attar Shopping Mall - it is a small center in Karama on Street Kuwait, Tel: +971-4-3351020 or +971-4-3344455. www.alattargroup.com. 
  3. Al Barsha Mall, Al Barsha 2 - Opened in mid June 2011, just before 2011 Ramadan. It has a Cooperative Union supermarket / hypermarket. The opening of Union Coop was with great promotional prices for groceries. It is near the Mall of the Emirates and close to Al Barsha pond park. 
  4. Al Bustan Centre / Centre and Residence - They have Shopping center and apartments for rent. It has about 100 stores, Fantasy Kingdom amusement and entertainment area (24,000 sq ft). 640 residential  suites, swimming pool, gym, business center, meeting rooms, two restaurants. It is in close proximity to Dubai International Airport. 
  5. Al Ghurair Centre / Al Ghurair City, Al Rigga Road in Deira. Open from 1000-2200 and 1400-2200 on Fridays. The first large shopping mall in Dubai (opened in 1978, before the world had heard of Dubai). The place is cheaper than the place of newer ones. It has more than 200 shops. Not all shops are within the mall - some coffee shops open directly onto the main road. The mall is expanding in 2010.
  6. Al Ittihad Mall, Muhaisna - planned opening for 2009 which was delayed to 2010. Cooperative Federation has opened a supermarket in mid 2010. 
  7. Al Khaleej Centre - Bur Dubai, is a small shopping center with shops - mostly IT / computer related. It has a food court in the basement. It is located across the road in front of Alain center . Paid parking is available in the basement. Etisalat has a customer service center in the center. The mall has KFC and MCDonalds and Baskin Robins.
  8. Al Mizhar Mall - a small supermarket complex with an outlet of West Zone supermarket. It is near to the Aswaaq Mizhar community center. 
  9. Al Mulla Plaza - It is located in Dubai close to Sharjah border on the Dubai - Sharjah highway (Ittihad road). 
  10. Arabian Centre - Tel +971-4-2845555. New shopping center (March 2009) in Mirdif / Al Mizhar. It is one third of the Mall of the Emirates. It has many cinema multiplex, WorldMart hypermarket, food court, children play area, and some shops. 
  11. Arena Mall - Dubai Sports City (DSC), it is under construction, expected to open by the end of 2013. Total expected area is 1.88 million square feet on 2 levels, with 300-340 shops and educational family entertainment center, 12 screen cinema complex, 2 food courts, Carrefour hypermarket, and family entertainment center, education, and 7000 parking. It has a direct connection to cricket Stadium (DSC) and an indoor stadium.
  12. Aswaaq Dubai - a chain of supermarkets and community centers are being opened in Dubai and the UAE. It opened it first outlet in May 2009 in Al Sufouh close to Dubai Media City. They plan to open 40 supermarkets in differentcommunity centers 20. Other centers in the markets of Nad Al Hamar and flourishing. Toll-free phone number 800-279227. 
  13. Bawadi Mall Dubai - the planning for the development of Bawadi in Dubailand. Numbers can be confusing, but that the release be one of the largest shopping centers in the world when if gets built. Nothing to do with Bawadi Mall in Al Ain, which opened in 2009. 
  14. Bin Sougat Center, Al Rashidiya, Phone: +971-4-2863000, PO Box 55316. Shops are open from 10:00 to 22:00 Saturday-Thursday (some shops are closed from 1 to 5 pm), 5:00 to 10:00 on Friday (cafe open for lunch). Its a small mall with shopping center on level 2 with Spinneys supermarket (open 8:00 to 23:00). The mall first opened in July 2001, expanded in 2003. Shops include Ajmal Perfumes, Costa Coffee (coffee), Damas jewellery, Baskin Robbins, the Dome Cafe, Etisalat, Jumbo Electronics, Pier Import furniture and household goods, Red Earth cosmetics, San Marco household and Union National Bank. 
  15. Bur Juman Centre (BurJuman Center) - located on the Trade Center Road in Bur Dubai. Open from 1000-2200 and 1400-2200 on Fridays. The mall was expanded in 2006 from 200 to 300 shops. The complex has food court and Children play area. You can find a good number of local residents as visitors to the mall. Once of the main reason could be because it is the home of many international fashion brands like Cartier, Aldo, Tommy Hilfiger etc. Parking is free in the mall basement. The mall is sometimes wrongly spelled as Bur Jaman/BurJaman center. 
  16. Century Mall Dubai - located next to the Youth Club in Al Mamzar. It is situated in a total area of 150,000 square feet for retail sale. Carrefour hypermarket, jungle bungle amusement center, food court. Other shops include Jacky's, Damas, Giordano, Nayomi, Hang Ten and Sheetal. The mall is owned by Al Safeer Group and opened in 2003. 
  17. Deira City Centre , Opening hours are from 1000 to 2200 and on weekends from 1000 to 2400. It is located opposite to the Dubai Creek Golf and Yacht Club. The mall is crowded in the evenings and vacant parking is difficult to find. The mall has huge number of shops and has a Carrefour also. For customers 4 hours parking is free and totally free on weekends. If you have a movie ticket you can have an extra hour of parking. Also known as DCC, and popularly known as City Centre. Some of the outlets that moved from the mall are - IKEA Dubai (furniture mart) and Bin Hendi (BinHendi) Avenue. IKEA moved to Dubai Festival City in 2006. BinHendi / Bin Hendi Avenue closed in April 2009. City center has a Dubai metro station connected to it.
  18. Dragonmart (Dragon Mart), on the road to Hatta, Dubai after the intersection of Emirates Road heading in the Hatta / Oman direction. There are many small shops (about 4000). The total area of the complex is 150,000 square meters) All stalls has Chinese products sale. You can find the most interesting and cheap Chinese products here. Now a days they don't let price bargaining, so its not very cheap. 
  19. Dubai Mall. - Largest Mall in the world with the last Aquarium panel and close to the tallest building in the world.
  20. Dubai Marina Mall - Located in Dubai Marina. It is situated on the edge of the in water in Dubai Marina. This mall is mostly not so crowded. Its got a food court and for weekdays lunch, it mostly occupied by people working in Dubai Media City and Internet City. 
  21. Dubai Outlet Mall (DOM) - The mall was opened in August 2007. The shops here has deals on branded items and most of the time its a good deal for brand freaks.
  22. Emirates Cooperative Al Mizar - It has a large cooperative supermarket. The opening hours are from 0700 to 0200. You can find McDonalds there.
  23. Grand City Mall, Al Quoz Industrial Area 4 - It was opened in July 2006. The mall is for low budget shoppers center. It caters to workers who live in the area. It has about 35 shops. Shops and offices include ANTA travels, Karama Medical Center, Better Life pharmacy, a department store, Grand Hypermarket city, money exchange, ATMs (the National Bank of Abu Dhabi and Standard Chartered). The complex is administered by Regency Group. 
  24. Grand City Mall Jebel Ali - Its a small shopping mall mainly targeted at low budget shopping for workers. Administered by Regency Group.
  25. Grand Shopping Mall, Al Quoz Industrial Area 1 - Its a small shopping mall mainly targeted at low budget shopping for workers. Administered by Regency Group.
  26. Hamarain Shopping Center (Hamrian / Hamriyan / Hamarayan / Hamariyan the center - in Deira.
  27. Hamriyah Shopping Center - at Hamriyah.
  28. Ibn Battuta Mall (Ibn Battuta / Ibn Battuta Mall, IBM / IBSM) much smaller than it looks. This is because its spread in onc floor lengthwise and long walk to reach from one end to another. It is divided into different sectors - Andalusia, China, Egypt, India, Persia, Tunisia. It named after the 14th century Arab explorer Ibn Battuta. On the way are many artifacts related to Ibn Battuta's travel and throws light into the culture and science of the medival age. All items are rebuilt, but they look authentic. Ibn Battuta Mall has Geant, which is a French Supermarket chain. Otherwise, mostly from the same stores you find anywhere, but less crowded. The only IMAX cinema in Dubai is here. Also LEGO store has its outlet only here. It has two food courts on both ends of the mall. The Starbucks is situation in the middle of the way, but it as a stunning art work on the roof. There are electric golf carts to transport you from one end of the shopping center to other cost AED 5. There is ample of parking in the mall both covered and non covered. Nakheel is the developer of the mall. Ibn Battuta Mall Phase II expansion will double the size of IBM with additional areas under the title based on the Hijaz, Morocco, Turkey and Yemen. These is a metro station outside the mall.
  29. J3 Mall - it is a small proposed shopping center with boutique on Al Wasl Road in Al Manara area, opposite to Umm Sequim in Choithram.
  30. Jumeirah Plaza - a small shopping center near the Magrudy's center on Jumeirah Beach Road. 
  31. Jumeira Beach Centre - a small shopping center on Jumeirah beach road, and color with dark blue glass. It has burger king.
  32. Jumeirah Town Centre - it is a small mall on Jumeirah Beach Road, and walkable distance to Mercato Mall Phone: +971-4-3444161 or +971-4-3440111. 
  33. Khan Murjan - its an underground market/souq. Its part of the Wafi City complex. The souq is based on the 14th century market - the Khan Marjan in Baghdad, Iraq. Its more of a tourist attraction more than a shopping destination. But its worth a visit.
  34. Lamcy Plaza - located on Sheikh Zayed Road near by  the American Hospital and Leisureland Al Nasr. The place is more of an Indian inhabited store. Clothing is the main item of sale and shops doesn't have a boundary in this mall. The food court is nice over here. There are two movie theaters. Parking is a pain in the evenings. Run by Lals group. 
  35. Madina Mall, Beirut road, Al Qusais area. This mall is yet to open but work is in progress. More than 100 shops on two floors, including a Carrefour supermarket. 
  36. Magrudys Centre, Jumeirah Beach Road - Magrudy's bookshop and Magrudy's shoeshop, Gerard cafe and a few other small shops. 
  37. Mall of Arabia - Yet to open and rumored to be the largest mall. 
  38. Mall of the Emirates (MOE) - the largest in the United Arab Emirates when it opened in November 2005 with an area of about 2.4 million square feet (220,000 square meters), and 400 stores. At one end of the mall there is the famous SKI Dubai which is an artificial ice land with snow and snow boarding. Pullman hotel is also in this mall. Parking can be difficult sometimes busy (evenings and holidays), but there are ample of parking available, so this shows the malls crowd. Parking is free for first four hours and on weekends. There is a metro station connected to the mall.

  40. Mazaya Center - Its a relatively small mall located on Sheikh Zayed Road near the Defense Roundabout. It has two floors with restaurants and shops. It as a Spinneys Market, Homes R Us and Pier Import. 
  41. Mercato Mall - Located on Jumeirah Beach Road near Dubai Zoo. Open from 1000 to 2200 and 1400 to 2200 on Fridays. Its a very interesting looking place. the meaning of the mall is Italian Market. It has a Spinneys, Virgin Store (Music store), food court. The mall was opened in October 2002. 
  42. Mirdif City Centre shopping mall - It is supposed to have the largest Carrefour hypermarket in Dubai. Its located on Emirates Road. There is huge car parking available. There are about 430 retail outlets, including Carrefour hypermarket. There are 10 screen multiplex cinema, food court with 60 restaurants and cafes. The mall is developed and administered by MAF Shopping Malls. The Magic planet here is amazing with Rock climbing and SKY Dive Dubai indoor simulator.
  43. Nakheel Retail Shopping Malls - planned and no much details available now. 
  44. Oasis Center - Located on Sheikh Zayed Road. The mall was opened on April 1999. The mall was closed down due to a fire on September 2005 - Oasis Centre. It was reopened in 2009. 
  45. Palm Jumeira Shopping mall - Nakheel retail development on the island of Palm Jumeirah. No much info available so far.
  46. Palm Strip Shopping Mall - a small mall on the Jumeirah Beach Road. Close to Jumeira mosque. Phone: +971-4-3461462. Open from 10:00 to 22:00 and Fridays from 16:00 or 17:00 to 22:00. 
  47. Reef Mall - Deira, one of the popular mall with the local residents of the area.
  48. Royal Mall - small mall to open. No much info available. 
  49. Safeer Mall Dubai - Actually this is located in Sharjah.
  50. Souk Madinat - located next to the Burj Al Arab Hotel and Wild Wadi in Al Sufouh / Umm Suqueim. It is part of the Madinat Jumeirah complex. Its not a real shoppers destination. But its worth a visit to get a feel of the traditional shops and streets. Its got nice restaurants and there is Abra kind of boating facility for visitors through man made channels. 
  51. Souk Al Bahar - Located in between Burj Khalifa and Dubai mall. Similar to the market town of Souq Madinat with many of the restaurants. Eventhough not a shoppers spot, but nice place to visit. Has Spinneys supermarket in the basement. 
  52. SouqExtra! - A chain of small community super markets.
  53. Sunset Mall - Located on Jumeira road in Jumeirah 3 area. It has around 100 shops and restaurants with seaviews. The Developers are Mall sunset and Dubai Investments. This mall could turn out to be a luxury shopping destination. 
  54. The Dubai Mall - Located on Sheikh Zayed Road near Burj Khalifa, recently opened in November 2008. The largest mall in the world with 1200+ shops. It has a total area of 12 million square feet (1.1 million square meters). Actual retail space is 3.8m square feet and includes the many restaurants, an Olympic skating rink on the ice, and the biggest single glass aquarium. There are some new to UAE international stores like Waitrose (UK based supermarket), Galeries Lafayette (French shop), Bloomingdales (US department store), and Hamleys (UK based toy shop). 
  55. Times Square Center - Its a small mall located on Sheikh Zayed Road, near the Mall of the Emirates. Opened in 2007. It has a large outlet of Sharaf DG.
  56. Wafi City (Wafi City Mall, Wafi City Center ) - Located near near the Garhood bridge on Sheikh Zayed Road in Oud Metha area. Open from 1000 to 2200 and 1600 to 2200 on Fridays. It has expanded to about 200 stores since beginning. Marks & Spencer (M & S, Marks & Spencers, or Marks & Sparks) is one of the main stores here, Thomson musical instruments, food court, and a music institute are other attractions.
