IBAN for UAE Banks


The UAE Central Bank has launched a new account identifier called the International Bank Account Number (IBAN) The intention is to reduce errors in local and international money transfers.
IBAN is a unique 23-digit number. The specialty is that its internationally recognized account number assigned to each bank account on international level.
 It's an extended version of the conventional bank account and is primarily used in payment transactions in over 50 countries in the world, including all European Union states and Arab countries like Kuwait, Saudi Arabia and Tunisia.
The IBAN is functional in UAE and its emirates including Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, Ajman, Umm Al Quwain, Ras Al Khaima, Fujairah from 19th November 2011. But the fact is its not yet mandatory till 3 months from 19th November 2011. 
Most of the Banks including HSBC, Emirates NBD etc has already notified its customers with the new updated IBAN account number. Some banks like HSBC has given online users option to generate IBAN via their website.

Setting up Office in UAE


Before setting up business office in UAE, be it in Abu Dhabi or Dubai or Sharjah or Ajman or Ras Al Khaimah or Fujairah or Umm al Quwain proper study regarding the rules and regulations for that particular emirate must be carried out. Any businesses, whether services, industrial, trading or professional must be licensed to operate in the UAE. Licensing procedures vary from emirate to emirate and the relevant details are available from the concerned Chambers of Commerce. The Commercial Companies Law and the Trade Agencies Law constitute the primary federal legislative framework controlling commercial activities in the UAE. These documents can be downloaded from the Ministry of Economy web site.


When setting up office in UAE, there are things that you need to consider and have a look at. The procedures to set up a company in UAE is comparatively simple.

When setting up a business within UAE, the business entity used must fall within one of the 7 business categories mentioned in Federal Law no 8 of 1984 concerning Commercial Companies (as amended by the Federal Law no 15 of 1998) (the Companies Law).

When setting up company in Dubai, a trade license must be obtained from the Dubai Department of Economic Development (the DED) prior to the entity commencing commercial activities. Some business sectors may also require further approval from various ministries and/or other authorities. Certain commercial activities are restricted to UAE nationals or companies fully owned by UAE nationals.

To form a business or company in UAE, the current best option are Free zones and virtual zones. Below are some of the major free zones in the country.

AMAZON Rainforest (Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, French Guiana, Guyana, Peru, Suriname, Venezuela)
The Amazon Rainforest, also known as Amazonia, the Amazon jungle or the Amazon Basin, encompasses seven million square kilometers (1.7 billion acres), though the forest itself occupies some 5.5 million square kilometers (1.4 billion acres), located within nine nations. The Amazon represents over half of the planet's remaining rainforests and comprises the largest and most species-rich tract of tropical rainforest in the world. The Amazon River is the largest river in the world by volume, with a total flow greater than the top ten rivers worldwide combined. HALONG BAY (Vietnam)

Halong Bay is located in Quáng Ninh province, Vietnam. The bay features thousands of limestone karsts and isles in various sizes and shapes. The bay has a 120 kilometre long coastline and is approximately 1,553 square kilometres in size with 1969 islets. Several of the islands are hollow, with enormous caves, other support floating villages of fishermen, who ply the shallow waters for 200 species of fish and 450 different kinds of mollusks. Another specific feature of Halong Bay is the abundance of lakes inside the limestone islands, for example, Dau Be island has six enclosed lakes. IGUAZU FALLS (Argentina, Brazil)

Iguazu Falls, in Iguazu River, are one of the world's largest waterfalls. They extend over 2,700 m (nearly 2 miles)  in a semi-circular shape.  Of the 275 falls that collectively make up Iguassu Falls, "Devil's Throat" is the tallest at 80 m in height. Iguazu Falls are on the border between the Brazilian state of Paraná and the Argentine province of Misiones, and are surrounded by two National Parks (BR/ARG). JEJU ISLAND (South Korea)

Jejudo is a volcanic island, 130 km from the southern coast of Korea. The largest island and smallest province in Korea, the island has a surface area of 1,846 sqkm. A central feature of Jeju is Hallasan, the tallest mountain in South Korea and a dormant volcano, which rises 1,950 m above sea level. 360 satellite volcanoes are around the main volcano. KOMODO (Indonesia)
Indonesia’s Komodo National Park includes the three larger islands Komodo, Rinca and Padar, as well as numerous smaller ones, for a total area of 1,817 square kilometers (603 square kilometers of it land). The national park was founded in 1980 to protect the Komodo dragon. Later, it was also dedicated to protecting other species, including marine animals. Puerto Princesa Underground River (Philippines)
The Puerto Princesa Subterranean River National Park is located about 50 km north of the city of Puerto Princesa, Palawan, Philippines. It features a limestone karst mountain landscape with an 8.2 km. navigable underground river. A distinguishing feature of the river is that it winds through a cave before flowing directly into the South China Sea. It includes major formations of stalactites and stalagmites, and several large chambers. The lower portion of the river is subject to tidal influences. The underground river is reputed to be the world's longest. At the mouth of the cave, a clear lagoon is framed by ancient trees growing right to the water's edge. Table Mountain (South Africa)

Table Mountain is a South African icon and the only natural site on the planet to have a constellation of stars named after it - Mensa, meaning “the table.” The flat-topped mountain has withstood six million years of erosion and hosts the richest, yet smallest floral kingdom on earth with over 1,470 floral species. Table Mountain boasts numerous rare and endangered species. Unfortunately Bu Tinah could'nt find its way to the top 7 even though the government had been trying for it for the past almost 2 years. There were many Bu Tinah awareness campaigns, the last one being the Bu Tinah experience at the Abu Dhabi Corniche. The SMS campaigns had been running for quiet a while. Still the votes were less than the other candidates.

Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai opens Dubai Airshow. He is the patron of The Dubai Airshow.
The Dubai Airshow is among the top 4 air shows in the world. The DAS is one of the fastest growing in the world.
The 12th Dubai Airshow will the biggest yet with up to 1000 exhibitors from 50 countries and more than 55,000 trade visitors are expected.
The exhibition will run between 13 and 17 November in more than 325000 sqm, the largest trade show in Dubai.
This year more than 200 new companies will exhibit. New companies account for some 20 percent of the growth of this year's air show.
The Boeing 787 Dreamliner is set to fly into the Dubai Airshow, the first Chinese Aircraft MA600, manufactured by China's Xian aircraft industry and the big show of C130J.

Dubai Global Village 2011

16th Dubai Global Village 2011-2012 is open from 6th November 2011. This years global village dubai had a great start as it opened from Eid Al Adha. Global Village will last till Jan-Feb 2011 . Timing of Global Village is from 4 pm . In the global village lake there will be a music / dancing fountain daily 6 shows . The fountain show is accompanied by laser show for the first time in UAE. There are 28 pavilions and 40 countries in the fair . The cultural shows include folk cultural performances including ballet, Bollywood shows, global hip hop, a UAE folk band as well as an Egyptian show . There will also be fireworks as usual . Timings and schedule are more during weekends . Dubai Global village is part of Dubai shopping festival (DSF) . Entrance fee is AED 10 . This new fee is from 2010 .
